Some 200 foreigners who seized a train in Poland on Tuesday to take their complaints about poor living conditions in camps to Strasbourg reached the German border, Radio Wroclaw said.

Some 200 foreigners who seized a train in Poland on Tuesday to take their complaints about poor living conditions in camps to Strasbourg reached the German border, Radio Wroclaw said.

Railway authorities called the police after Georgian and Russian refugees, including those from Russia's troubled republics of Chechnya and Ingushetia, occupied a train in Legnica, western Poland.

Polish border guards have also been summoned. Though Poland is a Schengen country, foreigners lacking an official refugee status cannot cross the border into Germany.

"The train is currently standing at the Polish check point in Zgorzelec. The authorities are negotiating with the refugees," a spokeswoman for the government of the Lower Silesian Voivodship said.
