Participants in an international Middle East conference in Jordan which finished on Tuesday said the discussions were "useful".
"Such meetings are always useful. They provide an opportunity to exchange opinions and new ideas. For me personally it was interesting to hear the opinion of my Russian colleagues. I appreciated that they have an unbiased view on the region, on the existing realities," one of the participants, Taha Abdel-Alim said.
"The conference turned out to be interesting, at least for Russian experts, who took part in it," said Sergei Karaganov, chairman of the Council for Russia's Foreign and Defense Policy.
"It was interesting for me, as an Israeli journalist, to come here and to learn the Russian point of view. It was interesting to find out what Russia thinks and how it sees the Iranian problem or the Middle East peace process," said Herb Keinon, a columnist of the Jerusalem Post paper.
The conference involving prominent politicians, experts and political analysts from Russia, Arab states and Israel, as well as a number of European countries and the United States, kicked off on Sunday. It was organized by Russian News & Information Agency RIA Novosti and the Russian Council for Foreign and Defense Policy within the framework of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
