The death toll in last weekend's anti-government protests in Tehran has risen to at least eight on Monday, Iran's state-run Press TV reported.
Security forces clashed with protesters during the unrest on Saturday and Sunday, with initial reports saying five people were killed and over 300 rioters arrested.
Several banks, bus stops and a number of trash cans were set on fire during the protests, Press TV said.
Iranian police used tear gas to disperse protestors and were also reported firing shots into the air, according to the television channel. Several police officers were injured.
The civilian deaths are currently being investigated.
