A 17-year-old girl has been rescued from rubble after spending 15 days under a building destroyed by the deadly earthquake that struck Haiti in mid-January, Sky News television said on Thursday.
"She was in a pocket surrounded by concrete," Sky News quoted French rescuers as saying.
According to rescuers, the girl "was severely dehydrated and appeared to have a leg injury."
A 7.0 magnitude earthquake and a series of powerful aftershocks devastated Haiti on January 12-14. The latest official reports indicate that about 170,000 bodies have been counted so far, although estimates of the final death toll in the earthquake range up to 250,000.
International rescue teams have saved over 130 people since the initial tremor. The last survivor was a 31-year-old man rescued by a U.S. team on Tuesday.
Russian rescuers have pulled a total of nine survivors from the rubble during their week-long relief effort in Haiti.
A team of Russian medics will continue working in the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, for at least another week.
