Some 333,000 crimes were committed in the Czech Republic last year, 11,000, or 3% less than in 2008, a national news agency reported Saturday.
According to CTK, the clearance rate slightly rose to 38.3%.
The number of murders fell from 202 in 2008 to 181 last year. The police also registered a fall in the number of credit scams and embezzlement cases.
Fewer cars were stolen, but the number of robberies was the same.
