Turkish police on Tuesday shot an armed man who tried to break into Ukraine's consulate in Istanbul, Turkish media reported.
The Turk, born in 1981 and married to a Ukrainian woman, said he was armed with a grenade and a handgun. Media reports said a remotely controlled explosive device was found in his bag. In a shootout with police the attacker was wounded and taken to a hospital.
A spokeswoman for the Ukrainian diplomatic mission told RIA Novosti that no one else was injured in the incident.
