Greek police said on Sunday it had seized 195 kg (430 lbs) of explosives in a suspected hideout of the Revolutionary Struggle militant group.

On April 11, Greek police detained six suspected members of the group - five men and a woman, all aged between 30 and 40. Among other things, they were charged with bomb attacks, attempted murder and illegal possession of explosives and firearms.

The ammonium nitrate, enough to blow up a six-storey house, was discovered in a house, registered to a name found on a false ID, which police seized from one of the detainees.

Similar explosives were used in the 2009 blast near the Athens stock exchange.

The leftist Revolutionary Struggle group, which emerged in 2003, was included into the EU list of terrorist organizations in 2007.

The organization is believed to be behind the 2006 assassination attempt of the former public order minister and the 2007 rocket attack on a U.S. embassy in Athens. The group is also suspected of carrying out numerous bomb attacks in the Greek capital last year.
