The twin of the late Polish president Lech Kaczynski, Jaroslaw, said he does not completely trust the Russian authorities, including in the investigation into his brother's death.

Kaczynski, the leader of Poland's Law and Justice Party and a candidate to succeed his brother as president, said unlike Prime Minster Donald Tusk and acting president Bronislaw Komorowski, he did not have total faith in Russian politicians.

He called the investigation into the April 10 plane crash in west Russia that killed his brother, the First Lady, and other leading Polish figures a matter of "honor."

"In relations with Russia one should address the community, rather than the authorities," he said.

While Jaroslaw Kaczynski built his career on anti-Russian rhetoric and ferreting out Russian "sleeper agents," he also penned a video address to the Russian people following the death of his brother, thanking them "for every tear shed, every candle lit, for every word of comfort."

According to a recent survey, Komorowski is the favorite to win in the Polish presidency. The first round of polls is scheduled on June 20, and if no candidate receives the required 50% plus of the national vote, a second round between the two top candidates will take place on July 4.
