Hundred Chinese residents, deported to Japan during the World War II, will sue Japan's Mitsubishi motor corporation, the Xinhua news agency said on Sunday.
Some 40,000 people were deported from China to Japan during the World War II, the majority of them worked at the Japanese heavy industries. At least 7,000 of those deported died, China says.
Chinese World War II victims have been failing to receive compensations from the Japanese government over the last 20 years, that's why they will now try to sue private Japanese company, lawyers said.
The Chinese World War II victims deported to Japan will demand an apology and $14,700 in compensation each, lawyers said.
In late March, Holocaust Victims from Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus have asked the Deutsche Bahn to pay them 445 million Euros in compensation for deporting people to concentration camps during World War II.
The Holocaust victims believe the German national railway company is the moral and historical successor to Deutsche Reichsbahn, the railway company of Nazi Germany.
The successor company Deutsche Bahn has so far refused to pay compensation directly, claiming that it supports a foundation to assist forced labor victims.
