At least 33 people were killed and 15 injured after two trains collided in central Indonesia on Saturday, Indonesian news agency Antara reported.
The accident occurred at around 3:00 a.m. local time on the northern coast of Central Java province when a passenger train rammed in the back of another train at the Petarukan station.
Many people still remain trapped in the debris and the total number of those killed has not been officially announced as it is likely to grow further.
The Ministry of Transport did not say what caused the accident, however, according to Detik.com news Website it was caused either by a malfunction in a semaphore or it was a fault of the train driver.
