Thousands of Egyptians on Friday again gathered at Cairo's central Tahrir square to mark the end of the first week since Hosni Mubarak stepped down.

The demonstration, entitled Day of Victory and Continuation, aims to drive home the point that Mubarak's ouster is only the start of reforms.

The situation in the country has yet to return to normal. Army vehicles are still on the streets, schools and universities are closed and there are no police on duty in many parts of the country. Strikes have also swept the country, as employees demand higher salaries.

At least 365 people were killed and 5,500 injured in the nearly three-week unrest that forced Mubarak to step down after three decades in office. He handed power over to the Higher Military Council.
