A Russian national taken hostage in Nigeria was released in a special operation, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
"She is safe, and her health is satisfactory," the ministry said in a statement.
Tatyana Eyiuche was taken hostage in Nigeria in February this year. Nigerian police and special forces released her in the special joint operation.
Attacks on foreigners by groups demanding that locals get more of the country's oil wealth, have been frequent in the area since 2006. Kidnappings are also common.
