At least six people were killed and 23 injured in an explosion at a military hospital in the Afghan capital of Kabul on Saturday.

Two suicide bombers were involved in the attack at the Mohammad Daud Khan military hospital, Al Jazeera reported.

One blew himself up inside a tent on the hospital grounds which is used to teach surgery practices, while the other is believed to be somewhere in the facility.

James Appathurai, the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, said in a Deutsche Welle interview on Saturday that foreign forces will not end their combat operations against the Taliban in 2014 despite an earlier agreed timetable for handing over control of security in Afghanistan to Afghan forces by then.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but there has been an rise in Taliban activity since al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden was killed by U.S. commandos in neighboring Pakistan on May 2.
