Hundreds of people on Monday took to the streets in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad, the administrative center of Nangarhar Province, to protest against Pakistani shelling, Afghan TV channels reported.

More than 500 demonstrators were chanting "Death to Pakistani aggressors!" as they were marching on city streets after a fresh portion of 15 rockets were fired by Pakistan at Afghanistan's Kunar Province that injured no one.

Police stopped the protesters near the Pakistani consulate. No clashes were reported.

More than 800 rockets have been fired at Afghanistan's provinces of Nangarhar, Kunar, Khost and Paktia from Pakistan in the last two months, killing some 50 civilians and leaving over 100 wounded. Dozens of residential buildings were destroyed.
