Residents of Seoul and Jakarta came out into main streets on Saturday to support protests against ‘financial terrorism’, held in New-York and other large U.S. cities, CNN TV channel reported.

"We are protesting mostly for economic issues worldwide," he said. "We need to come up with ideas to solve the world problems," Arthur Fragoso, one of South Korean protestors, told the channel.

Jakarta residents also went out to the streets and gathered in front of the U.S. embassy. Some of the people wore masks.

"We wanted to show that the American regime, its system of imperialism needs to be destroyed," Rudi Daman, leader of the International League of Peoples' Struggle, told the journalists.

Australian cities of Melbourne and Sydney also joined the rallies and thousands of people came out into the streets.

"Our protests are to show our solidarity with Occupy Wall Street and also protest various problems -- from indigenous issues in this country to government problems," Alex Gard, one of the Melbourne organizers, told the channel. "We know we have it better than the protesters in the States ... but there are still problems in this country," he added.

The protests began in New York on September 17. The demonstrators, encouraged by the protests in Egypt, Syria, Tunisia and other countries, condemn the big banks and corporations that reap huge profits while ordinary people lose their jobs and benefits due to the protracted crisis in the United States.

CNN also said protests were also expected in large cities in Kenya, South Africa, Great Britain, France, Russia, Mexico and Venezuela.
