* The UN Security Council extended by 30 days the mandates of 300 international observers in Syria

* North Korea vowed to “reexamine its nuclear issue” following the uncovering of U.S.-South Korean alleged plots to destroy a statue of North’s founding leader Kim Il-sung, Yonhap reported

* At least 12 people are reported to have been killed and another 50 injured in a shooting at a Denver movie theater during the premier of the new Batman movie, the local KOA radio station reported citing the Federal Bureau of Investigations
