Four people were killed and 12 injured when a bomb went off in western Afghanistan on Saturday, national media reported.
Herat government press secretary Muhiudin Noori said an improvised explosive device was planted near the bazaar in the Shindand district and exploded as a police patrol drove by.
Three police officers were injured among others.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
