A Syrian rocket fell in a Jordanian border city, the DPA news agency quoted Jordanian government spokesman Samih Maaytah as saying on Sunday.
The rocket fell late on Saturday in the city of Ramta on the border with Syria. No casualties were reported. It is unknown which side of the Syrian conflict was responsible for the shelling.
“We are very concerned. This is a violation of our sovereignty. Such incidents are inadmissible,” he said.
Syrian opposition supporters and pro-government forces clashed on Saturday on the other side of the Syrian-Jordanian border, near Syria’s restive southern border city of Daraa.
This is not the first time a Syrian rocket falls in Jordan. Last week, four rockets landed on the outskirts of the Jordanian city of Turra. A child was killed and four people were injured.
