DUBAI, November 16 (RIA Novosti) - Iran has broken up a terror network with links to Israeli and Western intelligence agencies, Iranian state media reported on Friday.
“A number of terrorist elements affiliated with foreign intelligence agencies, who attempted to carry out bombing attacks in Khuzestan Province, have been identified and arrested over the past few days,” Iran's Intelligence Ministry said in a statement, without naming any specific countries.
The agents were planning to carry out a series of bomb attacks on provincial energy networks, as well as other acts of sabotage, the ministry added.
Large amounts of explosives, military equipment and communication and telecommunication devices were seized from the detainees, the ministry said.
