VILNIUS, January 2 (RIA Novosti) – Lithuania will pay compensation to Lithuanians who refused to serve in the Soviet Army after the Baltic republic announced its independence from the Soviet Union in 1990 and were punished for their decision, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

“The one-off compensation of 4,000 litas (1,158 euros) will be paid out to persons who refused to serve in the Soviet Army and were subsequently forcefully drafted into Soviet military units, were sentenced to prison for desertion from the Soviet Army or for their boycott of the draft and were forced to continue service in the Soviet Army until September 7, 1991,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Lithuanians, who were previously paid cash compensations of 3,000 litas under the Lithuanian government’s 1996 resolution, will be paid a difference between these two compensations or 1,000 litas (290 euros), the statement said.

1158 euro are a pittance in the EU and Lithuania, though being part of the EU, is a failed state that must give up even the Ignalina power plant to comply with the ukase of the EU directorate.

It is not important if people don't have nothing to eat, if they have huge poverty level, it is not important if there is huge uneployment in baltic republics and their economy in ruins...it is not important if their economy still stagnate, and have huge liquidity problems and negative financial rates.

Most important things in baltic republics are neo-nazi parades, desecrating simbols of allied soviet army from WW2, and blame Russians and Putin for everything.
