12:45 06/01/2013
MOSCOW, January 6 (RIA Novosti) – A cargo plane carrying 1.5 tons of gold from Ghana to Dubai has been held at Istanbul airport for four days due to missing documents, local media said on Sunday.
Airbus-A300 F type cargo, belonging to a Turkish airline, arrived at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport on January 1 for refueling, Hurriyet Daily News reported
However, the plane was locked up and sealed after the crew failed to present the necessary documents.
Some reports said the plane actually came from Algeria and could be flying to another country.
