MOSCOW, February 26 (RIA Novosti) - A Russian Emergencies Ministry plane carrying humanitarian aid took off from a Moscow airport for flood-stricken Mozambique on Wednesday, rescuers said.
Flooding in Mozambique has killed over 100 people and left some 170,000 homeless since October.
The plane is carrying tents, blankets, food, and mobile electricity generators.
The United Nations has estimated some $30 million will be required to provide basic healthcare, food and shelter for those affected by the floods.
