MEXICO, April 8 (RIA Novosti) - Mexico’s largest brewer Grupo Modelo said seven workers died in an accident on Sunday at a brewery in Mexico City.
The accident occurred when workers were carrying out cleaning and maintenance work inside one of the cisterns of the plant, which makes Corona and other popular beers.
There is no official information on the cause of the workers’ deaths, but Francisco Lopez Bravo, a manger at the brewery, said investigators are looking into whether they died from inhaling toxic fumes.
The brewer said there was no remaining risk to others following the accident. Grupo Modelo also said it had contacted the authorities and the families of the deceased.
