Iran will prepare a plan to break the deadlock in nuclear talks before its next meeting with the Iran Six group of mediators, due in mid-October, the Iranian leader said.

NEW YORK, September 27 (RIA Novosti) – Iran will prepare a plan to break the deadlock in nuclear talks before its next meeting with the Iran Six group of mediators, due in mid-October, the Iranian leader said.

“Before the next meeting in Geneva, Iran will prepare its plan for the [Iran] Six,” Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said, expressing hope that “more effective steps towards solving the nuclear issue will be made in Geneva.”

The next round of talks between Iran and the six nations involved in talks on its controversial nuclear program – Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States – will be held in Geneva on October 15-16.

At a meeting with his counterparts from the Iran Six on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif vowed to prove to the international community that Tehran’s nuclear program was "nothing but peaceful."

Western countries suspect Iran of using its nuclear program to develop atomic weapons, a claim that Iran has consistently denied. Tehran insists it needs atomic technology for producing electricity, although it has some of the world's largest reserves of oil and gas.

Iran is under four sets of economic sanctions in line with UN resolutions as well as a number of sanctions imposed by some Western countries unilaterally.
