GROZNY, May 9 (RIA Novosti) - A monument to Great Patriotic War heroes was unveiled in Chechnya this morning. Prime Minister Sergei Abramov and other republican government members attended the gala.
Later on the day, they laid flowers to a Government House memorial plaque in honor of Chechnya's President Ahmad Kadyrov, assassinated a year ago this day.
A monument to Kadyrov, by eminent Russian sculptor Zurab Tsereteli, will be unveiled, August 23, the president's birth anniversary.
Premier Abramov, other republican ministers and central office managers also attended today the commissioning of a bridge across the river Sunzha, which has replaced a war-demolished one.
