MOSCOW, August 31 (RIA Novosti) - Dozens of Russians may be stuck in the area around New Orleans devastated by Hurricane Katrina, Russian Vice-Consul in Houston Sergei Meston said Wednesday. "We have a list of people who may be in the affected region. There may be dozens of them," he said. No Russians are known to have died or been injured in the flooding caused by the hurricane, he said. "We are maintaining contact with the emergency aid HQ set up by the local authorities," he said, adding that no Russians had been reported among the hundred people who had died.

"There are around 3,000 people on the list of those who were injured and those who evacuated the area. The evacuees may include Russians, in which case the local authorities will let us know," he said.
