BUENOS AIRES, September 25 (RIA Novosti, Yury Nikolayev) - The Chilean capital of Santiago is hosting a show of Soviet movies about World War II. The show dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the victory in WWII is organized by the Russian embassy in Chile for the first time.

The program includes eight famous films by Soviet directors including Grigory Chukhrai's The Ballad of a Soldier, Mikhail Kalatozov's The Cranes Are Flying, Vladimir Dostal's They Fought For Their Motherland, Stanislav Rostotsky's The Dawns Here Are Quiet and Sergei Bondarchuk's Ivan's Childhood.

"Chileans who were used to American movies about the war were impressed by the unusual way of depicting those bygone events," Olga Ulyanova, a teacher of the Santiago University, said. "They saw the tragic and horrible war routine with the eyes of Russians for the first time."
