NOVOSIBIRSK, December 11 (RIA Novosti, Yana Ryabinskaya) - Voter turnout at Sunday's elections for the legislature of the Novosibirsk Region in central Siberia has passed the required threshold, the local election commission said.
As of 18:00 p.m. local time (12:00 p.m. GMT), 31.98% of registered voters had come to the polls, crossing the electoral threshold of 20%, the commission said.
No violations have so far been registered, the commission said.
Novosibirsk Region voters are electing 98 deputies in 49 single-seat constituencies and from party lists.
The parties include pro-Kremlin United Russia, the Agrarian Party, the Communist Party, Rodina (Motherland), the liberal Union of Right Forces (SPS), Narodnaya Volya (the People's Will), and the Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR).
