All incoming and outgoing flights at the airport in the region's capital, Petrozavodsk, will be suspended as of Tuesday.
The Transport Prosecutor's Office called for the suspension, claiming the airport is not licensed to provide air flight services and lacks certificates on aircraft safety and weather monitoring support.
"By carrying out operations without proper certificates, the company has been jeopardizing the lives and health of people who used the airport's services," prosecutors said in a statement.
"The airport will not reopen until it receives all required licenses and certificates," Deputy Prosecutor Vladimir Zatvorny said.
Spokesmen for the operating company believe the documents can be obtained within two weeks.
