The agreement, inked by the agency chief, Sergei Kiriyenko, and Indonesian Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda, is part of the Russia-Indonesia summit in Moscow, which started earlier in the day with a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, on his three-day visit to Russia.
Kiriyenko said Moscow is ready to take part in a tender for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Indonesia, to be announced by 2008.
He said Russia possessed a wide range of competitive technologies in the nuclear power sector, including a floating NPP design that may attract Indonesia's interest.
Russia's nuclear power equipment and service export monopoly, Atomstroyexport is currently building five nuclear power plants in China, India and Iran, on contracts worth $4.5 billion.
