MOSCOW, February 24 9RIA Novosti) - Heat supply to half of the houses in the eastern Moscow Region left without central heating after an accident on a heat pipeline has been restored, Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry said Saturday.
A total of 39,000 people in 371 houses were left Friday without heating in the town of Elektrostal.
A ministry's spokesperson said the temperature in the buildings that are still without central heating is maintained at normal levels due to uninterrupted supply of gas and electricity.
He said the heat supply in the town will be fully restored by late Saturday night.
Air temperature in the Moscow Region is currently about minus 9 degrees Celsius (16 degrees Fahrenheit).
