MOSKOVSKY (Moscow Region), March 24 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Communists have ruled out a possible alliance with a new Kremlin-sponsored party, Just Russia, a KPRF leader said Saturday.
"There is no connection whatsoever between the socialist idea and Sergei Mironov's party," said Ivan Melnikov, deputy chairman of the CPRF Central Committee, addressing a party plenary session.
He said Mironov, both as party leader and speaker of the upper house of parliament, has pursued a policy of "unqualified support for all initiatives of United Russia," the ruling party.
He also said Just Russia has borrowed heavily from the Communist program, but only to mislead the electorate.
Melnikov said Just Russia is a tactical opponent of the KPRF.
