WASHINGTON, October 28 (RIA Novosti) - U.S. astronauts are making their second spacewalk from the International Space Station (ISS) to attach a node to the station brought by the Discovery shuttle, NASA said on Sunday.
The main goal of the first three spacewalks during the STS-120 mission is to link the Italian-made Harmony Node 2 module to the ISS. The compartment will expand the interior of the station to around 500 cubic meters (18,000 cubic feet), and allow European and Japanese research laboratories to be connected to the ISS.
The excursion involving Scott Parazynski and Daniel Tani is expected to last 6 hours and 40 minutes, NASA said.
