MOSCOW, June 4 (RIA Novosti) - The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum opens up new opportunities for foreign investors, Hans-Paul Buerkner, CEO and president of The Boston Consulting Group told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.

Buerkner will be joined at the forum, set for June 6-8, by top managers from a host of U.S. companies, including Citi Markets & Banking, Coca-Cola, Dow Chemical, and Chevron.

"With the sustainable economic growth that Russia has experienced over the past few years, attractive windows of opportunity are opening up for foreign investors across all major sectors. Industries such as Financial Services, Food and Beverages, Telecomunications and Retail, for example, certainly represent a good opportunity right now," he said.

"The key success factor - and at the same time the core challenge for any foreign investment into any industry - is to transfer international know-how and experience while ensuring that local realities are taken into account in order to capture growth in a booming market," Buerkner went on.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, to be attended by President Dmitry Medvedev, will bring together business leaders and politicians to discuss key economic issues facing Russia and the international community.

Russian news agency RIA Novosti is the general information sponsor of the forum.
