Mobile TeleSystems, one of Russia's top three mobile operators, saw its third-quarter 2011 net profit fall 25 percent year-on-year to $362 million to US GAAP, the company said in a statement on Monday.

The company's revenue rose 12.5 percent in July-September 2011 to $3.275 billion.

"We delivered solid sequential and annual growth as we see increased consumption in all of our markets of operation. Total revenues in Russia, including mobile, fixed and equipment sales, increased year-on-year by 11 percent to 81.7 billion rubles," MTS President and CEO Andrei Dubovskov was quoted in the statement as saying.

Operating Income before Depreciation and Amortization rose nine percent to $1.440 billion, while the OIBDA margin decreased to 44 percent from 45.3 percent year-on-year.

Capital expenditures in the third quarter of this year stood at $704.3 million or 21.5 percent of the company's overall revenue. The net debt/OIBDA ratio amounted to 1.1 as of September 30.

Average revenue per user in the Russian segment grew to 288 rubles ($9.29) from 269.4 rubles year-on-year, while minute-on-user ratio went up to 272 minutes in July-September 2011 compared with 244 minutes in the same period of 2010.
