BERLIN, September 8 (RIA Novosti) - Senior officials at Russia's Gazprom gas monopoly and Germany's E.ON AG and BASF concerns signed an agreement to build the North European gas pipeline in the presence of the Russian and German leaders in Berlin Thursday.
The project will begin in the fall of 2005 and is expected to be completed by 2010. It will include laying a gas pipeline on the Baltic Sea floor from Russia to Germany with a throughput capacity of 55 billion cu m a year, worth 2 billion euros.
