MOSCOW, May 29 (RIA Novosti) - Transaero said Monday its 2005 net profit calculated to Russian Accounting Standards rose more than 50% year-on-year to 179.75 million rubles (about $6.3 million).
Russia's second largest air carrier said its earnings had increased 32% to 9.88 billion rubles (about $345 million).
Transaero also said its annual shareholders' meeting had approved a strategy to place the company's stock on the public market to raise its capitalization and attract financial investors.
Transaero recorded a profit of 116.8 million rubles (about $4 million) in 2004 after flying a total of 4.5 billion passenger-kilometers. It increased that figure to 4.8 billion passenger-kilometers in the first eleven months of 2005.
