MOSCOW, August 2 (RIA Novosti) - United Energy System [RTS: EESR] said Wednesday its net profit calculated to Russian Accounting Standards rose 34% quarter-on-quarter in April-June 2006 to 7.05 billion rubles (about $261 million).
The Russian electricity monopoly said net profit was boosted by revenue from its stakes in other companies.
In January-June 2006, UES' net profit rose 50% year-on-year to 12.3 billion rubles (about $456 million).
