Volga-Dnepr intends to register a net profit of $7 million in 2006, said Sergei Shklyanik, the company's senior vice president.
The company's sales increased 55%, year-on-year, in the first nine months of 2006, to $462 million, Shklyanik said. Sales of freight charter flights rose 14% on board An-124 planes and 129% aboard Il-76 aircraft. Regular flight sales grew 130%, to $156.83 million, he said.
Shklyanik said cargo carriage across the globe grew 60% in the reporting period, to 95,000 metric tons.
The company's sales are expected to reach $639 million in 2006, he said.
Volga-Dnepr intends to consolidate its leading position on the charter flight market by increasing the number of long-term contracts, Shklyanik said.
