LUKoil US GAAP net profit in 9M06 up 34.2% to $6.4 billion - 1

MOSCOW, January 12 (RIA Novosti) - LUKoil [RTS: LKOH] said Friday its net profit calculated to US GAAP in January-September 2006 grew 34.2% on the same period of 2005, to $6.442 billion.

Russia's largest oil company attributed its net profit growth during the reporting period to the favorable price situation, increased production and refining volumes, and effective spending control.

EBITDA grew 32.9% to $10.178 billion during the first nine months of 2006.
