MOSCOW, January 25 (RIA Novosti) - Gazprombank, a subsidiary of Russian energy giant Gazprom [GAZP] said Thursday its net profit climbed 1% year-on-year in 2006 to 13.7 billion rubles (about $516 million).
The bank, Russia's third largest in terms of assets, said its pre-tax profit grew 1% in the reporting period, to 18.7 billion rubles (about $705 million).
Gazprombank said its assets expanded 66% compared to 2005, reaching 724.3 billion rubles (about $27.3 billion), while shareholder equity doubled to 89.4 billion rubles (about $3.37 billion).
Loans to customers rose 58% to 454.9 billion rubles (about $17.1 billion). Corporate deposits were up 48% to 303.4 billion rubles (about $11.4 billion), while funds on individual deposit accounts increased 52%, to 66.7 billion rubles (about $2.5 billion).
