Russian monetary base up $1.1 bln in week to $116.5 bln

MOSCOW, February 22 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Central Bank said Thursday that the country's narrowly defined money supply (M1) was 3 trillion 51.2 billion rubles ($116.5 billion at the current exchange rate) as of February 19, up 29 billion rubles ($1.1 billion) in the week since February 12.

According to the Bank, M1 money supply consists of the currency issued by the bank, including cash in vaults of credit institutions, and required reserves balances on ruble deposits with the Central Bank.
