MOSCOW, May 7 (RIA Novosti) - Inflation in Russia in April was 0.6% against 0.4% in April last year, the country's statistics service reported Monday.
In April 2007 the consumer price index was 100.6%, up 0.2% year-on-year, the service said.
Inflation during the first four months of 2007 was 4% against 5.4% in the same period last year.
Earlier reports said inflation was 0.6% in March 2007, 1.1% in February and 1.7% in January.
The monthly minimum subsistence basket cost 1,555.4 rubles ($60.36) on average in Russia in late April, up 0.8% against late March and 5.5% compared to January.
This year's inflation target is 8%.
