MOSCOW, June 6 (RIA Novosti) - GAZ Group, a leading Russian auto manufacturer, said Wednesday its consolidated net profit, calculated to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), increased 100%, year-on-year, in 2006, to over 6 billion rubles (about $232 million).
GAZ Group, which includes the automaker GAZ, located in the Volga area, and its subsidiaries across Russia, said its sales in the reporting period grew 25.6%, to 118.8 billion rubles (about $4.6 billion), and its gross profit climbed 33%, to 23.2 billion rubles (about $897 million).
