Share of unprofitable businesses in Russia down to 30.4% in 1H07

MOSCOW, August 24 (RIA Novosti) - The share of unprofitable enterprises decreased by 5.2 percentage points, to 30.4%, in the first half of 2007, the Russian statistics service said Friday.

The service said that in the reporting period, 62,100 organizations received a total profit of 2.511 trillion rubles ($97.67 billion), while 27,100 organizations were 247.8 billion ($9.64 billion) rubles in the red.

About 58,000 organizations made a profit of 2.628 trillion rubles ($102.2 billion), and 32,100 enterprises lost 207.5 billion rubles ($8.07 billion) in the same period last year.
