MOSCOW, September 6 (RIA Novosti) - Boris Alyoshin, who heads Russia's Federal Agency for Industry, will become president of the country's largest automaker AvtoVAZ [RTS: AVAZ], a source in the agency said Thursday.
The former chief executive of the carmaker based in Togliatti in the Samara Region, Vladimir Artyakov, was nominated by the president as governor of the region last Monday and voted in by the local legislature two days later.
The source said the decision to appoint Alyoshin head of the Lada car producer, owned by state arms export monopoly Rosoboronexport, was made Monday.
