The country posted the highest industrial growth of 10.9% in June, while industrial output increased 7% in the first eight months of 2007 against the same period last year.
The official forecast for industrial growth in 2007 is 5.2%, but the economics ministry said it could be raised. There are plans to submit a specified forecast to relevant ministries and departments by September 20.
Processing industries reported the highest growth of 5.5% in August and increased 10.9% in January-August, year-on-year.
Russia increased mineral production by just 0.5% in August and 2.4% in the first eight months of 2007. The country produced 200 million metric tons of coal (up 0.5% year-on-year), 326 million metric tons of oil (up 2.5%) and 429 billion cubic meters of gas (down 0.9%) in January-August.
Russia produced 827,000 cars in the first eight months of 2007, up 10.2% year-on-year.
