MOSCOW, April 2 (RIA Novosti) - Russian energy giant Gazprom [RTS: GAZP] plans to produce 561 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2008, a company official said on Wednesday.
Valery Minlikayev, head of the company's gas and gas condensate production department, said that of this figure, Gazprom intends to produce 545.9 billion cu m of gas at existing deposits and 15.1 billion cu m at new deposits.
It was earlier reported that Gazprom had reduced gas production by 1.4%, year on year, in 2007 to 548.5 billion cubic meters.
Gazprom intends to boost natural gas output to 610-615 billion cubic meters by 2015 and to 620-646 billion cu m by 2020, Minlikayev said.
