"The strategy for Russia's foreign economic activity through 2020 was developed in accordance with presidential instructions and is almost ready. Key aspects of this document will be discussed at a roundtable meeting during the St. Petersburg Forum," Andrei Belousov said.
He said the strategy is based on the premise that "foreign economic policy is a continuation of domestic policy."
It also envisions measures to ensure further integration of Russian companies in world markets, and contains "a clear list of [foreign trade] priorities with regard to specific countries."
The official said a key topic of the forum will be "Russia's place amid a diversity of trends in the world system."
He also said a Russian-U.S. roundtable as part of the forum will discuss bilateral partnership in the economic sphere, adding that the U.S. delegation will be the largest and most representative one at the event.
In all, around 60 delegations, led by ministers or prime ministers, are expected to attend the forum.
Belousov said almost all heads of Russian regions will be present - 85 governors, compared with 48 in June 2007.
A keynote speaker on the first day of the forum's plenary meeting, June 7, will be Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
