BERLIN, May 29 (RIA Novosti) - Russian air company KD Avia ordered on Thursday 25 new Airbus A319 airliners worth $1.7 billion at an air show in Berlin.
"We are glad that we have chosen the A319 airliner for the development of our medium-range aircraft fleet. This airliner fully complies with our requirements for fuel efficiency and passenger comfort and is an ideal option for us," Chairman of KD Avia Board of Directors Sergei Grishchenko said.
The Airbus A319 is a medium-haul airliner with a passenger capacity of up to 120 and an average flight range of about 4,000 miles.
Airbus Commercial Director John Leahy said the contract with KD Avia stipulates that the delivery of the airliners will begin in 2014.
